Hello, friends.
Today we wanted to remember an incredibly special girl, Ellery Saige Linen, who passed away one year ago today. On December 9th of 2024, she had to leave behind family and friends to start her next adventure. It is difficult to believe it’s been an entire year and that time has continued to march forward without her.

Although her time on earth was short, it was spent bringing light into the lives of those around her. Please take a moment to join us in remembering- and celebrating- Ellery Saige Linen.

On January 4th, 2025, a very special Celebration of Life was held to honor Ellery’s memory.
A ceremony took place on this day to remember the love that she brought into this world. Her life was spoken to and remembered through literary excerpts on grief, remembrances by friends and family, and a memorial slideshow. The warmth of her memory hung in the air, filling the room with sadness, sweetness, and love.

She exists in my mind as a fierce little girl and I send love and light to all who love her.
Sophi A.

After the ceremony, guests were invited to have food provided by Black Tie Catering, and non-alcoholic beverages provided by Roaming Speakeasy. A dessert table was full of twix bars, Crumbl cookies, Wild Oats carrot cupcakes… Ellery’s favorites.
Ellery was always in the middle of all the fun and silliness. She never hesitated to speak up on behalf of her friends and ask, “Can we have more Pirate Booty, please?” They were endlessly grateful for her penchant to keep the snacks coming… and coming!

Creative and wholly unafraid to stand out, Ellery lived with a warmth that drew people in. A photo camper was ready for guests to remember the day and take photos for the scrapbook provided, as a homage to Ellery’s endlessly creative nature and love for capturing life through the lens.

Ellery was pure magic and someone who embraced joy with her whole heart. Her passion for dance, knack for singing loudly in the car, and love for performing made her an unforgettable, vibrant presence.
We will miss her, but her lovely spirit is still felt, especially watching the littles dance at Waynflete. I am sure her grace and flow will surround those dancers in an eternal hug.

The embodiment of love and loyalty, Ellery spread kindness wherever she went. She stood up for what she believed in and was fiercely loved by many.

The florals for her event were re-purposed as gifts for Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital after the day was complete- a gesture that would sure to have been loved by Ellery.
Closing
As we move forward, may we carry Ellery’s brightness with us- in our adventures, in our creativity, in the way we show up for one another.
She lived with a delightfully bold spark that was simply impossible to miss. Her presence invited others to embrace life with the same wholehearted enthusiasm she carried so naturally.
Even in memory, she will continue to brighten the spaces she once filled.

I am but waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
-Henry Scott Holland
